So do I eat this:
or do I eat this
OMG this just looks so scrummy!!
I just hate dieting - it is so boring but on previous efforts I do know that it would be worth it, so perhaps I will leave it for a while and wait for some warmer weather, but for now I must make a start on some serious cooking - Marmalade, breakfast without marmalade just isn't worth having - well that's what the OH says - so I am looking out for the first arrival of the seville oranges and I will then be enscounced in the kitchenWell better make tracks into the kitchen to start supper and maybe have one of these just to keep me going!
Any ideas for slimming recipes that I might just enjoy!!
On a sad note I lost my Aunt this week and it has all been a little stressfull, she wasn't married and had no children, so all the arranging has been left to her nieces and nephews - but most of all my sister who has been brilliant and can't thank her enough for all that she has done.
Oh Jill,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that your aunt has passed away. My Aunt died a couple of years ago and she was a major part of our lives. It's lovely for you to have your sister to do what she has done.
I don't think that you are meant to use the word 'DIET' anymore....it's a healthy eating plan !!!! It's funny but, for me, I usually want to eat healthily after Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I still manage to fit in the wine and chocolate !!!! Lots of love Jill and maybe healthy eating could start next month. XXXX
Sorry to hear about your aunt. I can never lose weight if I start talking about diets - my head's then full of the idea of yummy food! Exercise works better for me - and obviously trying not to eat cakes! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLovely Jill
ReplyDeleteI hear your pain and feel it too! Mr Bun and I are watching the calories at the moment. I've not done this for several years, and it can be tricky to get into. But now we're a couple of weeks in and it's becoming a more habitual way to eat. We do allow ourselves a treat from time to time: square of chocolate (!), popcorn, small piece of cake. I guess in many ways it is easier for us as we're Veggies so we just pile up the vegetables and cut back on the dairy/carbs. I have Rose Elliot's Vegetarian Slimming book which I use for all my slimming recipes and it's got some lovely recipes. We find slimming is about reducing the amount we eat rather than what we eat.
Sorry to hear about your Aunt, it's very sad and I hope that you are all able to find comfort with each other. Take care,
Denise x
Hi Jill!
ReplyDeleteI'm so not good at dieting, and indeed, in winter it seems even harder to do....
I'm sorry that you lost your aunt, and how sweet of you to thank your sister again through your blog. Have a good evening,
Maureen
Hi Jill
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt. My thoughts are with you... I read that having marmalade and forgoing the spread is actually healthier... go figure?? Anyhoo, I find I'm setting myself up for a fall if I start a diet in the dead of winter and so start mulling it over at the end of March when I'm more inclined to eat salads. A little extra weight after Christmas is just a little insulation! Take care. Lx
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BLOG YOU HAVE AND I`M SO GLAD TO HAVE FOUND YOU!
ReplyDeleteSORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOUR AUNT!
I`M WITH YOU WITH DIETING... SO FAR NO GOOD!
HAD A DIGESTIVE BISCUIT AT 11.30 AT NIGHT, JUST BEFORE GETTING READY FOR BED!
NOT TO MENTION THE PACKET OF CRISPS, JAM ON TOAST AND FINISHING OFF MY LITTLE BOYS TEA! LOL
DEBBIE MOSS
So sorry to hear about your sad start to the new year, and definitely NOT the time to be thinking of dieting. You need to be in a positive happy place first, and the weather needs to be warmer I think too. We need inner fuelling at this cold time of year, so be kind to yourself, put it off a month or two, and meanwhile just eat sensibly perhaps?
ReplyDeleteGood luck... I gave up dieting, it just won't work for me due to health issues and medications, so the best I can hope for is to maintain it and just go with the flow as it increases every so often by a pound or two, down to nothing other than meds so out of my control. OK, you have my permission to feel sorry for me now!
Hi Jill - first time here and so sorry to hear your sad news.
ReplyDeleteI am on a diet and believe me if I can lose weight anybody can. I follow (well use the word loosly) Slimming World and since September I have lost 9.5 lb. I DID but on 2.5 lb over Christmas and missed classes for a month due to the terrible weather here in North Yorkshire. I still have my wine - I could noy get by without my glass each night - yes one glass!!! (I may fill it up several times however lol) nice to meet you. Denise x
Hi Jill,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your loss!
I can’t seem to get back on track with my healthy eating. It doesn’t help I’m not working much. I’ve been trying to think myself slim, in my head I’m now a size 10…… good luck!

ReplyDeleteI wish you a nice new year.
Take care.
Sorry to hear your sad news.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on the dieting, the only thing that works for me is a low ( not none!) carb diet and I have to get motivated too but it is so hard in dreary January!
Shelly.

So sorry to hear your sad news Jill. How good of your sister to take on all the arrangements.
ReplyDeleteWe all need comfort food at this time of year. But once the weather warms up I always think one little step at a time works best and to aim for a healthy balanced diet with a treat every now and then I'm sure you eat really healthily anyway!

Hello Jill. I came upon your blog through Madelief, and thought that I would pop by for a visit. First off so sorry about your aunt. It is always hard to lose a family member. Next I love the picture of the two ladies! It is so hard to lose weight especially when you get older those pounds don't come off like they used too! So I have been walking the dog more, doing a few more exercise tapes/dvds, and hope that the scale may budge just a bit!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful day, and I'll check back in on my next blog round.
Ulrike
Hello Jill,
ReplyDeleteSorry to here about your Aunt, I hope you're ok.
I love reading your blog to see where you have been and what you have found.
