Lots of Bargains!!

Once again I feel I am neglecting my blog, I really don't mean to!! Because blogging has so helped me in the last year and I have met such lovely people through blogging. So to all new followers welcome to Nice Day at Roses

The past few weeks have been filled with fairs, sewing and sourcing new items for my stall it really is a full time job, but I am so enjoying it.
One fair that I did this year was the Village Vintage in Sussex, and I recommend you to visit the lovely Lucy's facebook

page Love Lane Vintage, her photos just make you want to buy all that she sells, Lucy also runs a smaller Brocante Fair once a month in the Sussex village of Wisborough Green,

so we decided to combine a holiday with one of her lovely fairs in September, and luckily Ardingly Antique fair is on at the same time.  Found a beautiful barn in the Sussex countryside so really looking forward to this.

Been busy today at a country auction, and I mean country auction, it is held at a large farming market in deepest Devon, and when you are there I feel like I have gone back nearly 40 years in time, it is worth visiting if only to listen to the local characters, and visiting the Market Cafe. I was of course looking for items for my next fair which is in the Cotswolds, and it never fails to provide, lots of buckets, watering cans, milking stools but I am going to keep it a secret for now the exact location!!. The fair in the Cotswolds is run by Ali from Betty and Violet and is in the village of Toddington.
Here are a few items of what I will be taking
A glimpse of my french bistro chair

Pretty basket

French coffee cups

One of my finds today at the market

and a pretty trio

If I was going to buy new fabrics or clothes I have a soft spot for Cabbages and Roses,

beautiful fabrics and clothes and I am always looking for a bargain, managed to find this lovely top on Ebay! so pretty.

Tomorrow should see me sewing again, as well as another visit to an Auction and so much painting to do!
I love your comments and found such pleasure when you leave them, off now to visit all your lovely blogs.  Hope next posting is will be a little sooner.

  1. I love Cabbages and Roses - one of my favourite clothes shops! I lived in my tartan coat and dress last winter.

  4. Hi Jill,

You sounds so happy visiting the fairs, meeting new people. Isn't it just lovely how blogging can change your life?! Just before I left for England I decided to rent a stall at a vintage & lifestyle market in Holland as well. Can't wait!! Before I go I will be looking at the photographs of your stall, to see how you made it all look.

Your top looks lovely! Such a pretty find.

    Have a lovely day.
