Tired of London Tired of Life!!!

Its been a very busy week, and the country girl went to the city.  The weather was gorgeous and we arrived late morning the hotel was great just what we wanted, small friendly and fairly reasonable for London as well as being in a brilliant area within walking distance of Chelsea, Plimlico and Knightsbridge.  Great pub just over the road, wonderful lunchs and meals in the sunshine,
Tea At Laduree

 beautiful streets and mews.

walks in the parks, and the David Hockney exhibition was brilliant, although there were a lot of people and it was often difficult to appreciate the art, but the colours just blow you away.

After the exhibition we caught the tube to Notting Hill  and walked to Clarendon Cross,

now a long time ago this is where Cath Kidston had her first shop selling vintage fabrics and lovely old china and vintage finds how things have changed, there is also a great restaurant Julies (meant to be the most romantic in London) where we had lunch, lovely area but I had a plan I also wanted to see Rachel Ashwells shop Shabby Chic Interiors, they were kind enough to let me take some photos so hope you like them (I didn't have my proper camera with me too heavy to carry) so this is just done on a normal small camera.

Such a beautiful shop although a lot smaller than I thought it would be

The whole trip was great but lovely to come home to Devon and my garden.
I have realised that I have now been blogging for 2 years so I think another give-away should take place and I will let you know what it is later in the week, alot chiller now and the OH is lighting the fire!! hard to think it is going to be so cold in the next week, been busy outside protecting all my new seeds and plants hope they withstand the cold.  Look forward to all your lovely comments and I will be back soon.

  2. What lovely images of London. I showed them to my honey and even he wants to search some of these gems out when we visit London again in August. Looks like spring has definitely arrived in the UK. Hopefully it will be here in Canada soon, too!

PS I am a new follower.

  11. Oh how I envy you the David Hockney exhibition. Funny, but I a friend of mine went up to London last week to see that too. All those gorgeous shops, but I agree, it is always lovely to return home.
    Still lighting the fire here!!

    Have a lovely week.

  12. The Laduree Shop looks fabulous Jill! You picked a glorious week to be in London - I hope its as good when I go down next week.

We had a log fire going on Saturday night. During the day the temp was 12 degrees compared to 23 just a few days before. Crazy!

  17. Hello Jill, really enjoyed your photographs of London; it looks so cosmopolitan! Part of me would love to enjoy that lifestyle, living in a mews house and bobbing about to all those delicious eateries with friends but Im a real bumpkin these days prefering to spend my time pottering about in my little garden by the river, close to the hills and gorgeous moorland.

Glad you had a lovely time,
    Julia x x x

    Ps - Happy Easter!

  18. Lovely photos and obviously a super time in London. Gosh those macaroons almost look to beautiful to eat. I hope your plants have survived - it's always exciting to see how much they have grown, even in a couple of days. We have been battling snow, gales and power cuts - thank goodness we have plenty of logs!
