New Finds and a rather wet Devon

What a weekend, did it rain, but of course that didn't stop me from having a lovely time with our friends, it including lots of bargain hunting, and great meals out and a great amount of laughter, wine and chat!
So here is a few photos of my finds which I hope to be bringing along with me to the Vintage Fair in Topsham this Bank Holiday.
Fabrics which arrived from France!
Can't wait to turn them into something really pretty

Delicate cups and plates
Chest of drawers waiting to be painted
and a  quilt which I bought on Ebay
Glass candlesticks picked up in the local Charity shops, just add some pale pink candles for a stunning display

This lovely faded mirror which I bought from a flea market in France (I know that wasn't this weekend) but it is so delicate and fragile, I don't think I will be selling this one.
Then to finish the weekend lunch at this pub,The Lord Poulett Arms if you are ever in the area definitely worth going to.

On our way back from Exeter today, the River Exe had burst its banks, goodness knows what will happen if we have more rain, only glad that I live on top of a hill!
I love your comments so please feel you can just drop on by and let me know your thoughts. Cup of coffee in hand I am off to read your lovely blogs!

  2. Hi Jill, thanks for your comment re Frock Me. It was quieter than usual due to the rainstorms ( who can blame them?) but always a lot of fun meeting up with fellow standholders as well as lots of lovely regular and new customers. I'm determined to get to one of your fairs before too long but rather constrained by family matters just now. See you soon, Cx

  3. Hi Jill, I popped in to the vintage fair in Topsham on a Friday a few weeks ago, I will try and come along to see you there. I know what you mean about this rain, I had planned to go to the Badminton Horse Trials this weekend, but sadly it has been cancelled.

As for the little French mirror, it is so delicate....I would have to keep it too.
Have a good Fair at Topsham with all your lovely things,

  7. What pretty fabrics! Anything you make from them will be just dreamy....
I have a collection of glass candlesticks. I thin I may pick up some pink candles to add some femininity. Thanks for the idea!

  13. No, no, no Jill - Don't go to the vintage fair - drive straight on up to my house and drop everything off!!! I've been searching for a chest of draws like that for my girls room for ages - and the quilt would fit in perfectly too - why oh why do I live so far away!
Absolutely beautiful things - well spotted. xx

  14. I love the fabric Jill ... well everything really, just so pretty. I wished I lived closer! Have fun at the fair in Topsham!

I hope this relentless rain eases, some friends have been flooded in today and are having to pump out their kitchen - some drought huh!
